Bush Junkies is owned and run by Roger and Tony. The name was born out of a poem that Roger once wrote!

Roger, an ex-Geography teacher, was bitten by the travel bug in the 1980s and founded Bush Junkies in 1995. He has travelled extensively throughout Southern and East Africa and, since 1996, has been guiding safaris all over South Africa, as well as leading numerous tours to Botswana, Namibia, Zambia and Zimbabwe. To show visitors the beauty and wonder of our wild places and to teach them about our fascinating wildlife is a dream come true for Roger.

Tony has spent most of his working life at top quality private lodges such as Sabi Sabi and Singita. He has also spent some time operating as a free-lance tour guide around South Africa. He has accumulated a considerable store of knowledge about our country and its wildlife and his cheerful and engaging manner make tourists feel right at home. He is currently operating out of Bloemfontein and offering city tours there as well as more extended tours from Bloemfontein to surrounding regions (eg Golden Gate, Kimberley etc).

We are proud of our company and determined to provide a first class service. We are both qualified as National Tour Guides (NQF level 4) for all 9 provinces of South Africa. We also have both qualified as level 1 field guides with the Field Guides Association of SA. Bush Junkies is appropriately licensed regarding public driving permits, transport permits, passenger liability insurances, first aid certificates etc.
